Agapanthus africanus albus

Agapanthus Africanus 'Albus', also known as the African lily, is an ornamental plant that beautifies gardens with its brilliant white flowers. Originally from South Africa, this plant is known for its elegant, trumpet-shaped flowers that grow in dense clusters on tall stems.

Characteristics:

Flowers: 'Albus' produces white flowers in globular clusters that bloom from mid to late summer. The stems can grow up to 90 cm tall, making the flowers stand out beautifully above the green foliage.

Growth: The plant forms dense clumps of narrow, evergreen leaves. With a height of 60-90 cm and a spread of 50-60 cm, this Agapanthus is ideal for borders, pots or as a striking solitary.

Care:

Position: Place 'Albus' in a sunny spot for optimum flowering. It thrives in full sun and can tolerate light shade.

Soil: Choose well-drained, fertile soil. The plant is drought-resistant once well established.

Water: Water regularly during the growing season, but avoid stagnant water.

Planting instructions:
Soak Agapanthus roots in water for 3-6 hours before planting. Plant them lengthwise, shallowly (1-2 cm deep).

Agapanthus Africanus 'Albus' often starts growing already in the first year and usually produces flowers from the second year. Full establishment takes about 2-3 years, after which the plant will flower profusely every year.
